Supply Chain Students Association of Kenya Hosts Successful Conference at KCAU Town Campus

The Supply Chain Students Association of Kenya (SCSAK) held a highly successful conference at the KCAU Town Campus Hall on Friday 21st February 2025, bringing together over 500 students from leading universities across the country. The event provided a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and discussions on the future of Supply Chain Management. Students from Tharaka University, University of Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Africa Nazarene University, Kisii University, Mount Kenya University, and Strathmore University were in attendance. The conference featured insightful keynote speeches and discussions from distinguished industry experts.

Dr. Ibrahim Tirimba, Director of KCAU Town Campus, officially opened the event with a compelling speech, highlighting the significance of supply chain management in today’s global economy. He emphasized the importance of equipping students with relevant skills and knowledge to navigate the dynamic sector. Dr. Catherine Gatari, the Club patron of SCSAK – KCAU Town Campus, was present to support the initiative and welcome the guests, she gave a heartwarming welcome speech. Mrs. Margaret Ngari, The Regional Supply Director World Vision, spoke on leadership and communication, highlighting the importance of effective interaction in supply chains. Mr. Eshitubi Ashene, the Director and Founder KIKAO International LTD, discussed emerging technologies like AI, block chain, and automation, showcasing their impact on the sector.

Wanunuzi SACCO and the Kenya Institute of Supplies Examination Board (KISEB) gave presentations on financial management and certification opportunities. A panel discussion, moderated by Felix Juma, the National Organizing Secretary of SCSAK and a student at KCAU Town Campus Pursuing Bachelor of procurement and Supplies, allowed students to engage with industry professionals, addressing challenges and opportunities in the field. The event concluded with a certificate award ceremony, recognizing participants’ commitment. SCSAK expressed gratitude to KCAU and the speakers for their contributions. The conference served as a key step in preparing future supply chain leaders with essential industry skills.
